The room itself was clean, but dimly lit with only two side lamps. The main light was flickering so we couldn't use it, but the front office was locked before we could ask anything about it. There is a fridge inside, which was a plus, and the bathroom area was clean and not as cramped. There is a complimentary coffee maker, but when we made hot water from it the water had bits of dust inside.

Loved the location of the hotel. Removed enough the city that it was quiet but not necessarily inconvenient. We were in room 1 and even though it was by the front door, we never were bothered by noise. Room was a very good size as was bathroom. We would definitely return!

The Manoir is a historic building which meant that the room we stayed in had older features such as bay windows and water heaters. The bed was phenomenal and the views of the Chateau Frontenac were a plus!

This hotel was a perfect blend of convenience and quietness. Located just a few steps up from the terraces Dufferin, it's still very centrally located but sees little car or foot traffic. Our room was on the first floor and had a view of the Frontenac. We were slightly concerned that we would constantly hear guests coming and going, but we barely noticed. Our room was spacious for our needs and very comfortable. The staff was friendly as well. Highly recommended for the price.

We stayed at the Manoir sur le Cap on our Honeymoon. Compared to other hotels it was the best quality at the cheapest price.

Unfortunately, the only spoiler to a perfect Valentines Day vacation was Manoir Sur Le Cap. When we arrived, we believed we would be getting a room which had two double beds (as per our reservation on Expedia). After lugging up our luggage three narrow, winding flights of stairs (no elevator), we arrived in a tiny closet of a room which housed only one double bed. Confused, my boyfriend came back down to ask the front desk who rudely told him he was confused and patronized him by explaining what "double" meant. She told us if we wanted a bigger room, we would have to pay the additional cost. We gave up as the bickering was getting nowhere (also, this hotel had limited hours so the woman was trying to put on her shoes and bolt out the door to go home), and took the single double. This size would have been adequate for one single person, as we couldn't open up both luggages in the room while keeping walking space.

I don't believe the woman meant to give us a hard time ( we couldn't communicate 100% with her in English ), but this hotel really needs to work on customer service, problem solving skills and respect towards their customers. There are plenty of hotels on the same street, so I advise choosing one of the neighboring ones instead.

First off, let me start off saying that we absolutely LOVED the location of this hotel. Perfect walking distance to great views and activities, and the entire neighborhood looks like it's straight out of a movie. There are dozens of hotels in the neighborhood (and that same street for that matter), though.

While the room was on the small side it was exactly as advertised.

If you do, I would recommend to get one of the larger rooms and to always leave your things secured and locked up. Don't expect to be able to get any help there since they will either be not there or will argue with you about how you are wrong. Didn't offer a receipt during check in or check out, nor did they ask us how our stay was. May be good for people not traveling with anything valuable, and guest who will be there only to sleep (you never know who may waltz through).

The second days events is what pushed me over the edge to write this bad review. We were on our way out of the hotel to go dog sledding on Valentines Day when we heard a quiet knock on the door. It was the woman we spoke to the prior day, telling us that someone would be coming into our room while we were gone to take marketing photos. She told us to lock our bags in case, and that she would move our things while the photographer was there. My boyfriend told her that he was not comfortable with that, and that it was not okay with us as 1. We didn't have time to pack up since we had 20 minutes to make it to our appointment, and 2. We had paid for and reserved the hotel room on VALENTINES DAY. She kept pushing, saying that it was the only day the photographer could come as he was 'busy'. We asked if they could take photos of the other rooms instead ( only four rooms out of fourteen I believe being used ), but she said it had to be that day. My boyfriend wouldn't budge and she ended up leaving, but we locked up our things anyway since we couldn't be sure that no one would come in that day ( if she would have come just moments later, we would have been gone and she could have gone in without consent ).
